Holiday Entitlement

From 1 April 2009 the statutory minimum holiday entitlement will be increased from 4.8 weeks leave to 5.6 weeks leave per year. This means that a worker working a typical five day week will have his or her leave increased from 24 days to 28 days.

This is the last of the two increases phased in under the Working Time (Amendment) Regulations 2007 which have pushed up annual leave from 20 days as it stood prior to 1 October 2007.
